The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't wanting for depth at the cornerback position. Undrafted rookie Ahmari Harvey has an uphill climb to earn a spot in the team's locker room, one that will begin at St. Vincent College.
NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein slapped Harvey with a 5.69 prospect grade before April's NFL Draft, which predicted the slender coverman would be in the very position he finds himself in, as a "candidate for bottom of roster or practice squad."
Harvey earned a 75.5 overall grade from Pro Football Focus during his final go-round at Georgia Tech, which ranked 182nd out of 896 cornerbacks. His 80.2 coverage grade cracked the top 90.
In Latrobe, Harvey will get to watch and learn from the likes of Jalen Ramsey , Joey Porter Jr. (maybe) and Jamel Dean , each of whom have enjoyed success at the game's highest level. Though a long shot, if he can soak up some know-how and blend it with the type of effort that notched him 63 tackles as redshirt junior, Harvey might be able to turn some heads.
First, though, he'll need a jersey number.
Acquired:The Steelers signed Harvey as an undrafted free agent last month. He participated in the Denver Broncos ' offseason program, but was released at the end of the team's workouts last month.
Harvey arrived at Auburn as a four-star prospect, per Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN. He transferred to join Georgia Tech after not seeing any game action as a true freshman with the Tigers.
Harvey became a part-time starter as a redshirt sophomore, pulling down three interceptions, then was a full-time starter the next season. He notched 63 tackles, including a team-high 48 solo stops. An ankle injury last year hampered him during his final collegiate go-round.

Harvey attended the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, but didn't participate in on-field drills. He posted 15 bench press reps and was measured at over 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds.
