The Oklahoma City Thunder will be facing the Dallas Mavericks, and it's hard to tell who will be available to play for them. Over the last few games, the Thunder have lost several of their key players to injuries, and there's no telling if they'll be back for the rest of the season. That means that other players will have to step up, but even some of them are dealing with injuries.
Alex Caruso was the latest player to go down with a right ankle sprain and is ruled out for the game. Chet Holmgren is out as well, as he deals with right knee patellar tendinitis.
Now, Ajay Mitchell has popped up on the injury report with a right ankle sprain, and the hope is that he can play to give the team a much-needed boost.

Ajay Mitchell's injury status vs. Mavericks
Mitchell is listed as questionable against the Mavericks, which means there's a chance that he suits up. If he does play, he'll be the second go-to scorer for the Thunder next to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. That might be the case for most of the season, as Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace might be out for the year after their injuries.
Williams and Wallace both suffered their injuries against the Los Angeles Clippers, and both had to undergo surgery.
Now, Mitchell will be placed into a bigger role , and he already showed against the Phoenix Suns that he's ready.
"We saw it last year. If you zoom out to his whole trajectory as a player, he was pretty functional and impactful even as a rookie player on a very good team before he took an injury that year," head coach Mark Daigneault said. "Then, obviously, had almost a linear trajectory last year with the way that he started and finished the season. He's established that he's a great player, and that he's got a really bright future."
