The Alabama Crimson Tide
have been banged up throughout fall camp, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. But the latest injury in Tuscaloosa spells trouble for the depth of a unit experiencing a lot of turnover.
Some absolutely brutal news for the Alabama Crimson Tide
. Andrew Bone of Yea
Alabama
was the first to report
that Alabama defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman
will miss the 2026 season, and it continues what has been an unfortunate string of injury luck for the Crimson Tide, specifically on defense.

Beaman was having a strong fall camp and appeared poised to be a significant factor in Alabama's defensive line rotation. He started his first career game last year against Florida State
before going down with an injury that cost him the remainder of the 2025 season. Now he will be sidelined for the duration of 2026.
Alabama's defensive depth taking major hits
The Crimson Tide have dealt with a rough stretch of injury news over the past two weeks. Last week, it was Jorden Edmonds, a 5-star freshman defensive back
. This week, Jireh Edwards, another 5-star defensive back
who people around the program are very high on. The good news with those two is that while both required surgery, both are expected to return this season.

That is not the case with Beaman, which makes this loss particularly painful.
So while Alabama hasn't lost any starters over these last two weeks, the depth has taken some serious hits. For a team with championship aspirations, depth matters, and the Crimson Tide are going to be tested early.
Schedule could provide a silver lining
The truth is, it's a good thing for Alabama that the early portion of the schedule isn't nearly as brutal as the 5-game stretch beginning in October
and running through November. That window gives the Crimson Tide time to figure out rotations and allow younger players to find their footing before the real gauntlet begins.

The bottom line is this: Alabama has the talent to absorb these losses, but losing a player like Beaman for a second consecutive season is a blow that goes beyond the depth chart. He was a player trending in the right direction, and now his development is on hold again.
