Alabama guard to reportedly enter NCAA transfer portal

Alabama basketball guard Jalil Bethea will enter the NCAA transfer portal, per 247Sports' Travis Branham .

Bethea struggled to be a consistent contributor throughout his one and only season with the Tide. The former Miami star was acquired from the transfer portal last offseason, and Bethea was expected to play a major role this past year, but was buried on the depth chart.

The playmaker will now look to breakout elsewhere with an increased role next season, as Bethea appears to have seen his time at Alabama come to an end after just one season with the Tide.

Bethea averaged 3.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game this past season. The talented guard averaged just eight minutes per game this past year as well, as Bethea will now turn his full attention towards finding a new program prior to the 2026-27 campaign.

Alabama continues to lose multiple players to the transfer portal this offseason, as the Tide are expected to be active in adding talent as well.
