Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever ended the 2026 WNBA season with a disappointing finish. After finishing the regular season with a 28-16 record, the Fever earned the No. 6 seed in the WNBA playoffs, only to get bounced by A'ja Wilson and the No. 3 seed Las Vegas Aces 2-1 in the first round.
Despite the lack of postseason success, Boston turned in another solid year in her fourth season with Indiana. The former South Carolina Gamecocks forward averaged a career-high 16.1 points on 52.8% shooting, to go along with 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
What makes it more impressive is that Boston did this despite playing through an injury. She sustained a torn lateral meniscus while playing in season 2 of Unrivaled in February, but decided to play through the pain in 2026.

Following the first-round exit, Boston underwent a successful right knee arthroscopic surgery in Indianapolis to repair the injury. And the recovery has kept Boston away from her podcast, alongside WNBA legend Candace Parker, called "Post Moves with Candace Parker & Aliyah Boston."
Well, Boston finally returned to her podcast to co-host a recent episode this week. And Parker asked how she is feeling as she continues her recovery from surgery, before Boston shared some inside info on what she's had to deal with in order for her knee to heal.
"I've returned, I am better, actually," Boston said. "I am much better. We're making it… We had a nice, successful surgery on that meniscus repair, so quite nice. It took me a while, I couldn't just come back on here. I had to recover. Let me tell ya, this is my first surgery ever, so I was like laying in bed, not moving. I couldn't get up, couldn't use the bathroom. It was a lot, but we made it."
Boston also revealed that her parents, Cleone and Al Boston, along with her aunt, have been helping her throughout the recovery process.
Boston still has three years remaining on her four-year, $6.3 million deal, with her cap hit increasing to $1.55 million in 2027.
