When it comes to Matt Nagy, the New York Giants ' new offensive coordinator, you will hear mixed reviews regarding his style and his success. Many pin his success on the arm of Patrick Mahomes , who Nagy helped develop in Kansas City , where he won multiple Super Bowls as their OC.

Others point to his uneven performance as head coach of the Chicago Bears , where he was fired after four seasons in 2022 with a 34-31 record. It wasn't all bad for Nagy, though. He was named the NFL's Coach of the Year in 2018, leading the Bears to a 12-4 record.

One of his former Bears players, wide receiver Allen Robinson , likes the situation Nagy is in now with the Giants. He sees great potential in an offense with players such as quarterback Jaxson Dart , wide receiver Malik Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo.

"I think the offense can get used to being prolific," Robinson said on the Talkin' Ball with Pat Leonard podcast. "Meaning the guys that are 'the guys,' they're going to have a lot of opportunities. And they're going to have the ball in their hands, and they're going to be the driver of that.

"He gives the players — 'say' is the wrong word — but once you get to the line of scrimmage, you have a lot of ability as you practice through different checks, you can get to a lot of different things."

The Giants have much more versatility this season on offense. They have a new workhorse tight end in Isaiah Likely , a freaky rookie wideout in Malachi Fields , and have we mentioned that Odell Beckham Jr. is back? But Robinson sees Likely as the guy who can carry this offense for the Giants.

"Them having Isaiah Likely and looking at how Travis Kelce was used in Kansas City. Obviously he's not Travis Kelce, but I'm a big fan of Isaiah Likely and the plays he's made over his career," Robinson said. "Not just catching the ball but also being a tight end that can have a lot of catch-and-run opportunities, as well. And he's a playmaker."

Another player Robinson pointed out was wide receiver Darnell Mooney , who was a teammate of Robinson's in Chicago.

"His overall skill set is a guy who can stretch the field but also can make some contested catches, and he's a really good route runner, as well," Robinson said.
