Amanda Serrano responds to 'fake American' claim
Amanda Serrano said she was in Puerto Rico watching the halftime show and praised Bad Bunny for how he represented the island.
She used the moment to address comments that questioned Puerto Rican identity. She then directly challenged the language used to describe Puerto Ricans.
"Tonight I am here where I'm supposed to be in my beautiful Island with my people celebrating and watching with awe how well Benito represented us and our culture," Serrano said.
"I am proud to be Puerto Rican, and I am proud to be an American citizen," Serrano said.

"At the same time, I do not agree with statements that question the legitimacy or identity of Puerto Rican people, and I cannot support that characterization. It is wrong."
Serrano closed by reaffirming how she represents herself as a fighter. She said her stance will not change.
"I fight with the pride of Puerto Rico and represent my flag every time I step into the ring," Serrano said.
"I will never change and will forever be a Proud Boricua."
