One analyst thinks quarterback Aaron Rodgers still has plenty left in the tank.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers must still agree to return and play for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2026. However, if he does, which many believe he will, one analyst believes he could be in store for one of his better seasons in recent memory.
Steve Palazzolo of The 33rd Team thinks the Steelers have set up Rodgers with his best arsenal of weapons in many years.
“If it is Rodgers, this could be the best group of pass catchers he’s had,” Palazzolo said on his Check The Mic podcast . “You’re gonna have Rodgers coming back in maybe his best situation in a few years. I think I said that last year, too.”
The Steelers have certainly assembled an intriguing supporting cast for whoever lines up at quarterback next season.
In addition to returning running back Jaylen Warren , wide receiver DK Metcalf and tight end Pat Freiermuth , the team has since traded for wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. , signed running back Rico Dowdle and drafted Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Pittman, 28, is bringing a wealth of experience and production from Indianapolis , with 485 catches for 5,254 yards and 25 touchdowns in his NFL career.
Dowdle, 27, has also been quite productive over the last two seasons, rushing for 2,155 yards and eight touchdowns.
Bernard, 22, still has a lot to prove at the next level, but he’s coming off a career-high 64 catches for 862 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025.
Those three players alone are quite the upgrade from what Rodgers had to work with last season, and he still finished the year passing for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.
Of course, this means nothing if Rodgers ultimately decides to hang up his cleats for good, but that still seems like the far less likely outcome, despite the long waiting game continuing.
