OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Baltimore Ravens have created additional salary-cap flexibilit y by renegotiating the contract of offensive guard Andrew Vorhees . Vorhees agreed to an adjusted deal that lowers his salary-cap cost for the 2026 season, according to The Athletic. The complete financial terms and exact amount of savings were not immediately available.
The move came alongside Baltimore's renegotiated agreement with defensive lineman Broderick Washington. Washington signed a one-year, fully guaranteed $2 million contract with $250,000 in available incentives, creating $2 million in cap space for the Ravens . Together, the transactions give general manager Eric DeCosta more breathing room while Baltimore evaluates its roster during training camp.
Vorhees had been scheduled to earn a $3.674 million base salary with a cap charge of approximately $3.7 million. His compensation increased through the NFL's proven performance escalator after he played extensively during the 2025 season.
Baltimore selected Vorhees in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL draft after he suffered a torn ACL at the scouting combine. He spent his rookie year recovering before developing into a regular contributor along the offensive line.
Vorhees enters camp competing for a role on a reconfigured interior that includes first-round pick Vega Ioane, veteran John Simpson , Emery Jones Jr. and several reserve candidates. His starting experience gives offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford another option while determining Baltimore's best five-person combination.
The renegotiation could also improve Vorhees' roster outlook by reducing the financial commitment attached to keeping him. Baltimore retains experienced depth while generating additional room for other needs.
The Ravens do not have to spend the savings immediately. They can preserve the money for an in-season emergency, pursue a veteran released during roster cuts, or absorb additional salary in a trade.
The Vorhees and Washington agreements are practical moves that allow Baltimore to retain experienced players while remaining flexible throughout the summer.
