Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese talked about how she encouraged Rhyne Howard in their game against the Minnesota Lynx.
On Sunday, the Dream headed into their matchup against the Lynx needing a win following their disappointing 101-83 loss to the Portland Fire on Friday.

Atlanta eked out an 89-81 win against the visiting Minnesota team in front of their home fans at The Gateway Center Arena.
The team needed another big-time performance from its star forward, Reese, who racked up her record-breaking 29th double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
But during her post-game interview, the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft gave Howard her well-deserved credit for stepping up in the crucial moments. Reese shared her message to Howard as the latter struggled with her shooting early in the game.

"I told her, shooters shoot," Reese said. "She didn't make a shot the first half, and I felt like she was a little down, so just putting confidence into her, pouring into her. I [told her], 'I'm gonna need you, I need you every single time. If you miss, baby, I'm gonna get the rebound. Don't worry.'"
Howard scored 12 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter and hit back-to-back three-pointers halfway into the final frame to give the Dream the much-needed cushion against the Lynx. She finished 6-of-16 from the field and 2-of-9 from beyond the arc.

Reese was hyped about the 2022 WNBA Rookie of the Year's performance and how impactful it was in securing their 26th win of the season.
"So I told her to keep shooting, and she came out big for us today," Reese added. "I'm so happy for her."
With this latest victory, the 26-14 Dream have climbed up to the fourth spot in the league standings. They are still in contention for the No. 2 spot with four games remaining in the regular season.
