Los Angels Angels and New York Yankees stars Mike Trout and Aaron Judge are both having an incredible series. Thursday, which represents the final contest of the Angels-Yankees four-game series in New York, saw Judge hit his fourth home run of the series, while Trout later hit his fifth.
Trout hit his home run 446 feet. It was also his fourth consecutive contest with a home run. He now has seven homers this season. According to Sarah Langs, Trout is the first visiting player to hit a home run on four consecutive days against the Yankees.
It is safe to say that the Angels star is seeing the ball well at the moment. Trout's injury history and struggles in recent years led some to doubt him heading into 2026. However, Trout is silencing the doubters without question .
The three-time MVP was able to play in 130 games last year. He hit just .232 with a .798 OPS during that span. Trout still recorded 26 home runs, but he did not look like the same player he once was.
Mike Trout had an up and down start to the 2026 season. His series against the Yankees has helped his numbers to say the least. He is now slashing .246/.409/.594 to go along with the aforementioned seven homers. Trout's OPS now sits at 1.003 as well.
Perhaps Trout can make another MVP run at 34 years old. As mentioned, Judge is also having a big series. The Yankees star is swinging the bat well this season and he entered the year having won back-to-back MVPs. Trout will have to find a way to out-perform Judge if he wants to earn his fourth MVP.
Trout's primary focus is on helping the Angels reach the postseason for the first time since 2014, however.
