The Los Angeles Angels picked up a big win over the Athletics on Monday. Angels slugger Zach Neto hit a home run to win the game for L.A. It was the end of a near-40 year drought for the Angels.
"Tonight was the Angels first victory when being no-hit through 8 innings since June 16, 1986 vs. Texas ," Angels senior communications manager Matt Birch posted to X, formerly Twitter.
Neto hit the walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning. Los Angeles was able to snap a six-game losing streak with the win on Monday.
"That was a heavy one," Neto said, per MLB.com. "Six-game losing streak. That one was big for us, not only me, but for the team; just to get it off our shoulders, and go to sleep good tonight. And be able to enjoy it, and come in tomorrow with a better attitude. We still trust each other."
Neto now has eight home runs on the season.

The Angels had no hits in the game heading into the bottom of the ninth. It was quite unusual how this contest turned out.
"Neto's hit marked just the third time since 1961 in which a team was being no-hit in the ninth inning only to win on a walk-off homer," MLB.com reported.
The Angels were in disbelief after the home run, but loved to see it. Athletics pitcher J.T. Ginn had pitched the entire game , and looked like he was about throw a no-hitter.
Neto was feeling great after the game.
"It's awesome," Neto said. "I feel like my swing's starting to come around a little bit. Today was a really good feeling, getting one against a tough pitcher. Ginn had his stuff working today, and he just so happened to leave one up and out over, and I took advantage of it."
The Angels are now 17-31 on the season. Los Angeles plays the Athletics again on Tuesday.
