England isn't exactly known for basketball, but there's a British Invasion going on with the Maine Celtics. As of Wednesday, the Boston Celtics ' G League affiliate now rosters two Brits, including 2025 second-round pick Amari Williams and newly added forward Tosan Evbuomwan .
The Maine C's officially announced their acquisition of Evbuomwan in the afternoon. A few hours later, the Newcastle native was starting on the road against the Wisconsin Herd. In an impressive debut, Evbuomwan finished with 21 points — shooting 57% from the floor — to go along with 4 rebounds and 4 assists as the Celtics prevailed 114-106 on Wednesday night.
Before landing in New England, the 24-year-old spent time with the Motor City Cruise, San Diego Clippers , Long Island Nets, and, most recently, the Westchester Knicks. Evbuomwan even had minor NBA minutes with the New York Knicks this season, yet his most productive year came during the 2024-25 campaign when he averaged a career-high 9.5 points per outing in 28 games with the Brooklyn Nets .
Before his NBA and G League days, Evbuomwan teamed up with Williams as part of the United Kingdom's 2019 U18/U19 European Championship roster. What kind of deal the 6-foot-8 forward can land with Boston remains to be seen.
