Another mock draft sends UNC’s Caleb Wilson to the Bulls

Caleb Wilson’s NBA draft stock continues to solidify near the top of the lottery, with multiple outlets projecting the former North Carolina standout as a top-four pick.

Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress projects Wilson to go No. 4 overall to the Chicago Bulls in the NBA draft. If that holds, Wilson would follow former Tar Heels Coby White, taken No. 7 by Chicago in 2019, and Michael Jordan, drafted No. 3 by the Bulls in 1984, as UNC stars selected by Chicago.

That projection mirrors the growing consensus around Wilson after Sunday’s NBA lottery set the draft order . USA TODAY has Wilson going No. 3 overall to the Memphis Grizzlies , while ESPN, like Givony, slots him at No. 4 to Chicago. Most major mock drafts now view the 6-foot-9 forward as one of the safest picks near the top of the board due to his scoring touch, rebounding and versatility.

Wilson earned All-America and first-team All-ACC honors this season despite missing the final nine games of UNC’s campaign with an injury. He averaged team highs of 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds and broke the Tar Heels’ freshman record for most 20-point games, previously held by Tyler Hansbrough , further cementing his status as one of the program’s most productive first-year players.
