The Arizona Cardinals might have ended mandatory minicamp, but that doesn't mean the front office is done working. According to Mike Garafolo , they are signing former New York Jets TE Kenny Yeboah .
Yeboah spent the first four years of his career with the New York Jets after going undrafted out of Temple and Ole Miss . He is 6-4 and 250 pounds. In four seasons from 2021-2024 with the Jets, where he would have known Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur, who was the Jets' offensive coordinator in 2021-2022.
In four seasons, he appeared in 33 games, starting twice. He had nine receptions for 111 yards. He also played 610 snaps on special teams in those 33 games. Last season, he signed with the Detroit Lions , got hurt in August, was placed on injured reserve and then released with an injury settlement in November.
He participated in rookie minicamp as a tryout player last month with the Kansas City Chiefs .
Since the move has not been announced, we don't know who will be cut in a corresponding move.
He joins a tight end room that includes:
-
Jameson Geers
His experience in LaFleur's offense and his experience on special teams (Cardinals special teams coach Michael Ghobrial was the Jets' assistant special teams coach from 2021-2023), make him an intriguing possibility for a third or fourth tight end on the roster.
