Calipari may have found a possible replacement for Razorbacks star Darius Acuff Jr. if he decides to enter the NBA Draft, where he is projected to be a top-10 pick.

ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported Arkansas’ acquisition of Wilkinson on Tuesday, as the 20-year-old sophomore left the Bulldogs after one year .

“One of the best scorers in the portal, Wilkinson averaged 17.4 points as a sophomore this past season. Another big-time bucket-getter for John Calipari,” wrote Borzello on X.

Calipari will have another dependable weapon in the backcourt. Aside from his scoring, Wilkinson is a solid defender and has the tools to become a better playmaker. He also averaged 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.6 steals at Georgia.

Arkansas will be Wilkinson’s third team in three years. He played his freshman year at California, where he was named ACC Sixth Man of the Year and was selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team.

Calipari, who recently took a subtle dig at Kentucky , was also targeting Wilkinson’s teammate, Georgia center Somto Cyril , before losing him to Miami . He also has his eyes on BYU guard Robert Wright III, but the latter is reportedly leaning towards returning with the Cougars.

Calipari has recruited numerous players who later became stars in the NBA, including Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander , New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns , Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker , Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray , and Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey , among others.
