Arsenal is among the clubs interested in Igor Matanovic, who has made an impressive start to the season for Freiburg and established himself as one of the Bundesliga's most effective attackers.

The 23-year-old Croatian has scored three goals and provided one assist in his first four league appearances this season. His performances have continued the progress he made last term, when he also impressed and demonstrated that he is maturing into a more complete forward.

Arsenal has monitored Matanovic for several months and believes he could be ready to move to a bigger club. The Gunners are assessing several attacking options as they plan for the next transfer window.

Arsenal monitoring Matanovic

Caught Offside reports that Matanovic is one of the attackers Arsenal has added to its transfer list. The Gunners have reportedly watched him regularly and view him as a player who could make the step up to the Premier League.

Arsenal has several forwards under consideration , but Matanovic is believed to be among those viewed as ready for a move to the Emirates. His strong form for Freiburg has strengthened that belief.

The striker offers physical presence and remains capable of improving further. Arsenal believes that playing alongside higher quality teammates in north London could help him develop into an even more effective attacker.

Freiburg prepared to negotiate

Freiburg has a reputation for identifying and developing promising players. The German club would therefore be willing to consider selling Matanovic if Arsenal meets its asking price.

The forward's valuation has risen significantly after his performances. He scored 15 goals in all competitions last season and has already continued that progress during the current campaign.

Matanovic is reportedly open to moving to England if a suitable offer arrives. However, Arsenal faces competition from Manchester United and Chelsea, both of whom have also monitored the Croatian.

The Gunners will therefore need to decide whether to make a formal approach. If Matanovic continues to score and create opportunities, Freiburg's asking price could rise further before the transfer window opens.
