A: There certainly was plenty of he-said, he-said, he-said between ESPN the NBA and the Clippers on Monday regarding where the Kawhi Leonard cap case is going. And if there is little or no Clippers punishment, then the Heat will have little to lament regarding neither the NBA nor the Hornets making them aware of the Terry Rozier gambling investigation prior to the Heat making that 2025 trade. However, considering how quickly the NBA clapped back at ESPN, if there is significant sanction for the Clippers, then it would be reasonable to wonder why so little compensation for the Heat other than a second-round pick from the Hornets (the one that turned into Ryan Conwell in June). Remember, the first-round pick due from the Heat to the Hornets to complete the Rozier trades does not convey to Charlotte until June at the earliest.

A: Well, Bradley Beal is now off the board, so there's that. But you also need scorers, and there's also that, because there will be times when Giannis Antetokounmpo and other scorers are off the floor. Still, you certainly could question the fit of DeMar DeRozan on the court at the same time as Giannis and Bam Adebayo, considering where all prefer as their scoring zones. But sometimes it's about talent added. And with DeMar, there unquestionably would be a value added. As for fit? Hey, that's why they pay Erik Spoelstra the big bucks.
