Dayann Methalie (20) is one of the breakout stars of the Ligue 1 campaign, and the Frenchman is now attracting interest from clubs across Europe, as per a report from Téléfoot.
Last summer, it was Jaydee Canvot who made the step from Toulouse FC to the Premier League after just one season in the French top-flight. Methalie, it would seem, could be on a similar trajectory. A flying full-back, the France U21 international (four caps, two goals) has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring twice and registering two assists. He has helped his formative club to a comfortable mid-table finish in the league.
And he could now be on the move. As per a report from Téléfoot, the left-back was the subject of enquiries from Aston Villa , Newcastle United , and Borussia Dortmund during the winter transfer window. Asked by Téléfoot about interest from some of Europe's top clubs, Methalie responded, "It is flattering. One day, I will have to leave. I would like to play at the highest level. For now, I have to keep doing what I'm doing."
