The Houston Astros are expected to activate Hunter Brown from the injured list on Tuesday. The team received an update on Christian Javier — who is dealing with a shoulder injury — before Tuesday's ball game against the Detroit Tigers as well. According to MLB.com, Javier is expected to return in late June. He will make his next injury rehab start on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old made only three starts before landing on the injured list in April. He has not made more than eight starts in a season since 2023. While Javier has displayed potential in the past, he needs to find a way to stay on the field. The Astros starter has dealt with injury concerns over the years.
Overall, Houston has battled injury trouble throughout the season. While the Astros have endured trouble when it comes to consistently winning games with all of the injuries, they are still in contention in the American League West.
Houston currently holds a 33-41 overall record, which is good for fourth place in the division. However, the ball club is just 4.5 games behind the Seattle Mariners for first place in the AL West. If players such as Brown and Javier can make a significant impact once they return, the idea of the Astros bouncing back in the division will become especially realistic.
For now, Houston is focused on its upcoming game against the Tigers on Tuesday. The Astros are hoping to get back on track after losing to Detroit on Monday by a final score of 9-3.
