The update comes not long after it was revealed that outfielder Tyler Soderstrom is expected to undergo season-ending hip surgery . Injuries have certainly played a role in the Athletics ' overall difficult campaign.

Wilson, a 2025 All-Star, has appeared in just 80 games this season. The infielder has hit .266/.298/.388 while on the field. His performance has declined from a season ago, but finding consistency while being in and out of the lineup due to injuries can make it challenging for a player to find his rhythm.

If Wilson's season is indeed over, the hope will be that he can bounce back next season and stay on the field on a more consistent basis. Updates on Jacob Wilson's injury status will continue to be monitored and provided as they are made available.
The Athletics will continue their current series against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday afternoon. The A's are hoping to avoid getting swept in a four-game series, as Kansas City has earned victories in each of the first three games. First pitch for Thursday's contest is scheduled for 2:10 PM ET.
