MLB Awards finalists were announced on Monday for the 2026 season. For the Braves, Chris Sale is a finalist for NL Cy Young and Walt Weiss is a finalist for Manager of the Year. Both are certainly deserving to be finalists, as both Sale and Weiss were major factors in the Braves returning to form in the 2026 season. In terms of chances to win, Weiss likely has a better chance than Sale. As November progresses, we will find out which Braves continued to get recognized for their 2026 performance.
The Braves claimed left hander Mitchell Parker from the Nationals on Monday. Parker came up as a starting pitcher but was moved to the bullpen in 2026. The numbers were not encouraging for Parker, so it will be interesting to see if he lasts the offseason with the Braves.
Ted Turner was included as a finalist in the Contemporary Baseball era ballot for 2027.
Eight players were recipients of qualifying offers for 2027.
The Cubs reportedly want to add Tarik Skubal in free agency.
