The Kansas City Chiefs , along with the rest of the league, have made several roster changes ahead of the 2026 season. The recent final roster cuts included former Chiefs players who previously contributed to Super Bowl titles.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Atlanta Falcons reportedly released former Chiefs offensive lineman Wanya Morris during final cuts on Sunday. Morris was recently traded to Atlanta during training camp but was unable to secure a spot on the regular-season roster.
Kansas City traded Morris with a 2027 seventh-round pick and received a 2027 sixth-round pick. Morris missed the remainder of last season after suffering a severe knee injury in Week 14 while filling in for Josh Simmons .
Morris had started 16 games for the Chiefs since being selected 92nd overall in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He was granted permission by Kansas City to pursue a potential trade after falling on the roster depth chart ahead of training camp. The emergence of undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson at minicamp pushed the Chiefs front office to part ways with Morris.
