Auburn targets Tulsa transfer guard Tylen Riley after NIT championship

Auburn basketball is receiving a visit from another guard, and this is one they recently saw up close. Tulsa guard Tylen Riley is scheduled to visit the Tigers next week, according to Nathan King of Auburn Undercover . Auburn got to see the talent and skills of Riley in the NIT Championship Game , which they won, 92-86, in overtime. In that game, Riley scored 20 points and was key in the Golden Hurricane's comeback after being down 21 points. He had a dunk in the game that was one of the highlights of the contest.

Riley was second in scoring with Tulsa, averaging 15 points per game. He shot the ball well from the three-point line at 39% and distributed the ball with 4.4 assists. His best game of the season came in a 93-83 win over Wichita State on February 1st. In that game, Riley scored 30 points on 9 of 11 shooting. He also had five rebounds and four assists in the game. Riley played his first two seasons in college at California Baptist. During his time with the Lancers, he averaged 4.9 points in 13 starts over 51 games. Tulsa gave him the chance to show what he could do as a starter, and he did not disappoint.

Auburn is looking to add some guard depth to its roster for next season. They are also receiving a visit from San Diego State guard B.J. Davis on April 18th. The Tigers recently lost Kaden Magwood and Elyjah Freeman to the transfer portal. They also need a plan if Tahaad Pettiford does not return to the team. Riley is rated as the No. 19 guard in the transfer portal and is listed as a four-star.
