According to Mundo Deportivo , Toni Fernandez 's future at Barcelona will become clearer over the coming weeks as the highly rated academy midfielder begins another pre-season under Hansi Flick.
The teenage prodigy, who is celebrating his 18th birthday today, is entering his third consecutive summer with the first team, but this time important decisions await.
After joining the senior squad on the 2024 pre-season tour of the United States and travelling to South Korea and Japan in 2025, Toni has once again been included in Flick's plans and will be part of Barcelona's training camp in England .
His first pre-season left a lasting impression, particularly after confidently converting a penalty against Manchester City . Two years later, the club believes this summer could play a defining role in his development.

The German coach handed him his La Liga debut last season and has long viewed him as one of the academy's most promising attacking midfielders.
In fact, Toni was the first youth player Flick mentioned during his introductory press conference after taking charge of Barcelona, underlining the high regard in which he holds him.
For now, the teenager will train alongside the first-team squad and a large group of academy players throughout pre-season, knowing every session represents another opportunity to convince the coaching staff.
As expected, Toni's situation has attracted significant attention from clubs across Europe. Interest in the midfielder has been growing for several summers, with multiple teams exploring the possibility of signing him.
One of the more notable admirers came through the project Sergio Ramos hoped to lead at Sevilla , where the proposed sporting department had identified Toni as one of the country's standout young talents.

Barcelona are fully aware of the demand but remain focused on choosing the best path for his development.
Within the club, there is a growing feeling that several Barça Atletic players have reached the end of their development cycle at reserve level.
Jofre Torrents is expected to leave on loan if the right opportunity arises , while Toni's cousin, Guille Fernandez, could follow a similar route should Flick decide he cannot guarantee regular first-team opportunities.
Toni finds himself in much the same position. Every option remains on the table, including staying with the first team or spending next season on loan to gain consistent experience at a higher level.
Fully aware of the importance of this pre-season, the young attacker spent part of his summer break following an individual training programme with his personal fitness coach.
He has returned to the Ciutat Esportiva in excellent physical condition, determined to make the most of what could be the most important weeks of his young career.
