It is known that although Barcelona 's transfer planning remains focused on finding a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski , there will be more movement elsewhere.
According to SPORT , the latest name attracting serious internal attention is Jakub Kiwior , the versatile defender currently spending the season at FC Porto.
Although the Blaugrana are not yet advancing negotiations, the player has been monitored extensively over recent months as the sporting department continues evaluating defensive reinforcements for Hansi Flick.
As per the outlet, Barcelona's scouting department has followed Kiwior throughout the campaign, with club representatives travelling multiple times to observe him in person.

As a result, the defender's profile has gained momentum internally, especially as other defensive operations, such as Alessandro Bastoni , have become increasingly complicated .
At this stage, Barcelona's priority remains strengthening the attack first, meaning defensive additions may not be as glamorous as the frontline.
In that regard, Kiwior fits several boxes, as the 26-year-old is naturally left-footed, comfortable playing out from the back and capable of operating in different positions across the defensive line.
While centre-back remains his strongest role, he can also feature at left-back or even as a defensive midfielder when required.
The Polish international is currently owned by Arsenal , although Porto are expected to activate a mandatory purchase clause worth around €17 million plus additional variables.

Compared to some of the elite defensive targets Barcelona explored earlier in the season, Kiwior would be a cheaper option.
Meanwhile, Bastoni's situation has moved in the opposite direction .
The Inter Milan defender was initially viewed as one of the dream options for Barcelona's backline, but technical concerns alongside the enormous financial demands significantly reduced optimism inside the club.
As things stand, Bastoni is no longer considered a likely arrival.
