Vincent Kompany may have rested most of his big guns ahead of Bayern Munich 's Champions League semi-final second leg clash with PSG , but he still would have backed his side to take care of business against Heidenheim.
Instead, the Bundesliga bottom side are halfway to a famous victory at the Allianz Arena.
With Harry Kane , Michael Olise , Joshua Kimmich and Manuel Neuer among others not starting, the minnows must have sensed an opportunity and quickly took it with a quickfire double.
Budu Zivzivadze opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, becoming the second Georgian to fire past Bayern in the space of five days after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia . The striker did very well to get a foot on the ball and poke it past Jonas Urbig .
Eren Dinkçi doubled Heidenheim's lead soon after as Bayern's defence fell apart at the seams, leaving the home fans in a state of shock.
Leon Goretzka halved the deficit just before the half-time whistle to set up yet another dramatic comeback win for the champions after the wild recoveries against Freiburg and Mainz.
Can Bayern do it again or will Heidenheim hold on to keep their survival hopes alive?
