At the end of October, the Tennessee Titans released DT Jordan Elliott after a bizarre gun incident. He brought a gun into a training facility after an altercation with teammate JC Latham. But now, the Chicago Bears are snatching him up.
On Friday, it was reported that the Bears will schedule a workout for Elliott next week, per Jordan Schutlz of The Schultz Report.
A big factor in giving Elliott a try is that the Bears need interior defensive depth. Ironically, Chicago scored big with Jeffrey Simmons , thanks to the Tennessee Titans.
Overall, Elliott has started in 65 games and has 159 tackles to his name. His possibility of joining Chicago comes at a time when they are doing pretty well. They are coming off a big 34-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday and currently stand at 6-2. Furthermore, Chicago is right behind the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North.
Plus, Caleb Williams is coming back strong after a recent hamstring injury scare.
On the flip side, the Titans are severely struggling with a 1-7 record and dead last in the AFC South. Overall, Elliott finishes his time with the Titans with two tackles and nine assists. He previously played for the Cleveland Browns from 2020 to 2023. Afterward, he was with the San Francisco 49ers from 2024 to 2025.
The Bears will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home on Sunday at 7:20 pm CST/8:20 pm EST. Meanwhile, the NFL is still investigating the gun incident and looking to determine whether Elliott will be suspended for policy violations.
