Bears NFL Draft 2026: Chicago selects Jordan van den Berg, Georgia Tech, DT
The Chicago Bears have sent both their seventh-round picks (239 and 241) to the Buffalo Bills for pick number 213 in the sixth round, and they finally took a defensive linema n. Jordan van den Berg, defensive tackle from Georgia Tech, is a sixth-year senior who started his college career at Iowa Western Community College in 2020, then on to Penn State from 2021 to 2023, and finishing up at Georgia Tech the last two years.
He played rugby in South Africa before moving to Georgia at 10, and quickly realized football was the sport for him. He was an All-State linebacker in high school and also played baseball and basketball.
He comes from good athletic genes, as his grandmother, Joan Rocci, broke several national swimming records in South Africa, and his grandfather, Francois van den Berg, placed sixth in the Medium division of the 1967 Mr. Universe bodybuilding competition.
He’s also one of the greatest athletes in the history of the RAS.
