- Bears plan to work out defensive tackle Jordan Elliott

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz , the Chicago Bears intend to work out former Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jordan Elliott next week. The soon-to-be 29-year-old is a 6'5″, 325-pounder with 65 starts and 102 games played in his career, who was released by the Titans on October 20.
On Thursday, October 15, Elliott had an altercation at practice with his teammate, offensive lineman JC Latham, and he was told to leave the field. He left the facility, went to his car in the players' parking lot, and grabbed a gun. Another teammate, defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers, de-escalated the moment without further incident.
Aaron Wilson of Houston's KPRC 2 and Sports Talk 790 reported on the situation a couple of weeks ago.
"This was so crazy," an NFL source said. "Jordan has been having a lot of problems away from the building and obviously he brought it to work with him. There was no reason for him to go off like that. Everyone thought that was wild. To overreact like that is absolutely crazy. We're just glad that no one got hurt and it's over."
Elliott has been dealing with personal family issues and sources said he brought that frustration and anger with him to the workplace, Titans coach Robert Saleh previously said that Elliott has been dealing with "personal stuff."
It's against NFL rules to bring a gun onto team property, and the League is investigating the situation.
His former head coach, Robert Saleh, discussed the incident at length after they released him.
"These kids go through a lot. I will stand on the table for Jordan's character. My message to 31 other teams: If you need a hell of a run-stopping DT that can help for a playoff run, give me a call. I'll tell you everything you need to know about him. He's a good man. Had a terrible lapse in judgment."
The Bears will have a walk-through at Halas Hall on Saturday and host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football. Elliott would likely work out next week at Halas Hall, as the Bears will be on their bye following the Bucs game.
