Bengals' Duke Tobin to make rare media appearance this week

One of the bigger criticisms of the Cincinnati Bengals over the years has been the lack of transparency from the organization.

It appears the Bengals will address that this week.

Bengals de facto general manager Duke Tobin will address the media this upcoming Friday at 1 p.m. ET, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.

This is a rare, new thing for Tobin, who usually only speaks with media around the NFL Scouting Combine. It’s a point of big criticism about the organization, as ownership and Tobin’s staff leave head coach Zac Taylor as the lone voice of the organization for the rest of the year, otherwise.

Apparently, that’s about to change.

Whether anything meaningful gets said by Tobin that is a big departure from Brown’s statements is up for debate.

But the Bengals taking another small step toward modern football operations with a little more transparency is, while small, progress in the right direction.
