Bengals pick Georgia WR Colbie Young in NFL draft
The Cincinnati Bengals selected wide receiver Colbie Young with the No. 140 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Young, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound wideout, played in eight games with seven starts at Georgia last season before he was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault on an unborn child and battery. He was suspended indefinitely by Georgia following the arrest.

The victim recanted her statement, and the misdemeanor charges of battery and assault were dropped. The University of Georgia cleared Young to return to practice, but he didn't play in a game for the remainder of the season.
Bengals coach Zac Taylor says the franchise feels comfortable with the research and work the staff has put in over the last few months to vet Young.
During the eight games he played in last year for Georgia, Young logged 26 catches, 358 yards and one touchdown.
With Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins returning as starters for the Bengals at wide receiver, Young was brought in to compete for the No. 3 receiver spot in Cincinnati's offense.

Young began his career at Lackawanna College in 2021 before transferring to the University of Miami where he played for the 2022-23 season. In 12 games for the Hurricanes in 2023, Young caught a career-best 47 passes for 563 yards and five touchdowns. After two years at Miami, Young finished his career at Georgia.
"Young is a big-framed athlete with fluid, long strides and the strong hands needed to consistently come down with the rock," The Athletic's draft analyst Dane Brugler said of Young. "He is an attractive option for an NFL team seeking a player who's stylistically similar to Courtland Sutton."
