The Cincinnati Bengals barely had time to celebrate Sunday's 35-13 blowout win in Baltimore before worst-case injury news hit the roster Tuesday. The team placed tight end Erick All Jr. on Injured Reserve with what is believed to be a torn ACL, following a brutal right knee injury suffered during the second half against the Ravens.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport broke the news on X on Tuesday.
"The #Bengals have placed TE Erick All Jr. on Injured Reserve with what is believed to be a torn ACL, sources say. The team signed TE Cam Grandy off the #Vikings practice squad."
All hurt his right knee during the third quarter of Sunday's 35-13 win in Baltimore when Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith landed on his leg while making a tackle. He exited Sunday catching all three of his targets for 26 yards.
The news is a crushing setback for All, who was just beginning to establish himself as a complete, two-way weapon in Dan Pitcher's offense. He has caught 8 passes on 8 targets for 56 yards across 6 games.
All has fought through brutal injury luck throughout his career. Back surgery cut short his 2022 season at Michigan. He transferred to Iowa in 2023 and tore the ACL in his right knee seven games in.
Cincinnati picked All in the 4th round of the 2024 draft knowing his medical background. He played well as a rookie, but tore that same right ACL against the Raiders in Week 9. He missed the rest of 2024 and all of 2025.
What's Next for Cincinnati?
The Bengals acted quickly to plug the open roster spot, signing tight end Cam Grandy off the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad . Grandy is already familiar with Zac Taylor's system. The former Illinois State product signed with Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and suited up for 13 games in two seasons.
He brings a rugged, dirty-work skill set to the table. Grandy gives the Bengals immediate insurance as an inline blocker on heavy running downs, though he lacks the pass-catching juice All brought down the seams.
The Bengals already lost Tanner Hudson to Injured Reserve earlier this month. Losing All leaves rookie Jack Endries as the only backup tight end on the active roster with true dual-threat capability . Mike Gesicki handles the slot receiver duties, and Drew Sample stays anchored near the tackle as a blocker.
The rookie spent weeks taking the majority of scout-team reps against Cincinnati's top-ranked defense. Now, the door is open for him to step into multi-tight end packages and become Joe Burrow's new safety valve when the Bengals host Tennessee at Paycor Stadium on Sunday.
