Bengals rookie leaves team and the story goes Hollywood
It was a really basic-looking roster move for the Cincinnati Bengals over the weekend.
The Bengals signed free agent cornerback Matthew McDoom and shifted cornerback Ceyair Wright to the exempt/left squad list. In the announcement, the team cited Wright as having "left the team to pursue other opportunities."

But it wasn't so basic, apparently.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor wound up telling reporters that Wright left the team after getting offered a still-unknown acting gig.
Because Wright, after all, was LeBron James' son in 2021's Space Jam: A New Legacy , among other notable acting credits.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, Wright was offered a "lead role" and filing will wrap in late October. He has no plans to quit football in the meantime.
Wright's status on the exempt list means he won't count against the 90-man roster, so the Bengals will have options when the time comes. But this explains why a basic-looking training camp roster move has, well, gone Hollywood, or so to speak
