- Bengals get worst-case injury news on Trey Hendrickson
The Cincinnati Bengals just can't catch a break in the negativity department right now.
Just after announcing some rough Tee Higgins injury news and the release of wideout Jermaine Burton , the Bengals revealed the latest update on star defensive end Trey Hendrickson .

According to Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, Hendrickson will go to see a specialist for his nagging injury and is already ruled out for the upcoming game against the Baltimore Ravens .
ESPN's Adam Schefter followed that up by revealing that Hendrickson will undergo surgery that will sideline him for six weeks.

Schefter added this: "Hendrickson initially suffered the injury during week 6 against Green Bay, and pushed to play two weeks later against the Jets . This injury has not improved with advised rest and team rehab, and now will need to be addressed."

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport revealed the specialist and that the surgery would end Hendrickson's season: "Bengals star DE Trey Hendrickson is set to visit Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia 's Vincera Institute as he weighs likely core muscle surgery."
Hendrickson has played since October 26 when he pushed back early from an injury and re-aggravated the issue. Reporting of the exact injury has varied, but Hendrickson and the Bengals had clearly hoped that, by not going on injured reserve, he could miss fewer than four games.
Instead, Hendrickson's game tally might end at seven before he's scheduled to be a free agent after the season.
