Starters galore get in full practices for Vikings
A whopping 15 players appeared on Wednesday’s injury report for the Minnesota Vikings. None have completely dropped off at this point, but things now look much less daunting.
Jonathan Allen, Blake Brandel, Ryan Kelly, Ty Chandler, and Jalen Redmond all went from health-related limited practices to full participants. Equally notable is that guard Donovan Jackson moved closer to a full practice.
The MN Vikings have played without the full complement of their offense line for the vast majority of the season. Coming off a concussion , it would be ideal for McCarthy to have the best level of protection possible. Against an equally bad Washington Commanders team, it wouldn’t hurt Minnesota’s chances at winning either.
This is the second-straight day that McCarthy got in a full practice, and the first that Ty Chandler did after having his 21-day window opened. The running back could be on track to play this weekend for the first time since Week 1. Activating him would require a roster move.
Washington Commanders may have their QB back
Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome elbow injury earlier this season and it appeared his year would be over. Marcus Mariota has filled in admirably during his absence, but the starter logged a full practice on Thursday.
At this point the 4-8 Vikings shouldn’t care which quarterback they play. However, they have had the misfortune of hurt starters returning against them. Lamar Jackson came back to beat Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium with the Ravens.
It seems curious the 3-9 Commanders would subject their young quarterback to potential further injury, but a competitor is always going to want to play. the two teams kick off on Sunday at 12pm .
