"It's all she wrote," Bhayshul Tuten told the Florida Times-Union after the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Colts 42-7. "I knew a big game was coming and today was a great day to show up." The second-year running back ran for a career-high 104 yards on 16 carries and caught two passes for 55 yards in the Jaguars' first game out of the bye .
He scored twice, on a 39-yard run that broke a tackle late in the second quarter and on a 25-yard catch-and-run off a screen that made it 42-7 on the last play of the third. Per the Times-Union, he is the first Jaguar since at least 2000 to score a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown of 25 or more yards in the same game. CBS Sports' John Breech, who spelled him "Bayshul" in his Week 8 grades , called it a breakout and gave Jacksonville an A.
What his season numbers actually say

Sunday was Tuten's first 100-yard game of the season. Before it, he hadn't topped 73 rushing yards in a game and was averaging about 4.1 yards per carry. Through seven games, the Jaguars' official game log has him at 492 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 110 carries, plus 15 catches for 181 yards and three more scores. That's solid production for a 2025 fourth-round pick who ran for 307 yards as a rookie, though not star production yet.
PFF sees more. Tuten's 90.6 overall grade ranks first among 44 qualifying running backs, and he has forced 25 missed tackles as a runner. "Thought he was a little bit more patient this game, was running through contact," Liam Coen said after the game . Tuten's 159 scrimmage yards were the most by a Jaguar since Travis Etienne Jr. had 184 in Week 5 of 2023, which matters because Jacksonville let Etienne leave in free agency and handed the job to Tuten.
Jacksonville's defense did the rest

The defense gave him plenty of chances. Foyesade Oluokun made nine tackles and sacked Daniel Jones, Travon Walker added another and Josh Hines-Allen and Arik Armstead split a third, a welcome sight for a pass rush that cost $63 million and had struggled to get home. Rayuan Lane III broke up three passes and returned an interception 92 yards for a touchdown before halftime, and Branson Combs picked off Jones in the fourth quarter. Indianapolis' CJ Allen made 10 tackles.
Trevor Lawrence went 10 of 14 for 210 yards and three touchdown passes before giving way to Quinn Ewers in the fourth quarter, and Jacksonville is now three games clear in the AFC South , a division that did the Jaguars a favor during the bye. So is Tuten a star? Not yet, at least by the box score. One more game like this in front of the EverBank Stadium crowd and the Etienne decision will be hard to second-guess, and the grade PFF has given him says it already looks right.
