Indiana football made an emphatic statement in its College Football Playoff Rose Bowl quarterfinal matchup against No. 9 Alabama with a 35-point win over the Crimson Tide .
One week later, the top-seeded Hoosiers delivered a similar statement in the Peach Bowl against No. 5 Oregon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Three defensive turnovers and three touchdown passes from Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza have Curt Cignetti's squad 30 minutes away from playing in the CFP Championship , as the Hoosiers led the Ducks 35-7 at halftime and won 56-22.
It didn't take long for the Hoosiers to get their scoring party going, as D'Angelo Ponds came up with a pick-6 on the game's first play from scrimmage. Mendoza led four touchdown drives on Indiana 's five ensuing possessions.
The Hoosiers cashed in on another Ducks' turnover just before halftime with a 2-yard touchdown pass from Mendoza to Elijah Sarratt . Mendoza's second touchdown pass of the first half gave the Hoosiers their fifth different touchdown score of the first half.
Last week's win over the Crimson Tide tied the record for the fourth-blowout win in CFP history, while setting the record for the largest margin of victory in the 12-team CFP era. So, where is this one projecting?
