- Bill Clinton Wishes Jerry Jones Good Luck Before 2026 NFL Draft
Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have not won a Super Bowl in more than 30 years. Dallas had arguably one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history during the 1990s. Led by the triplet of Hall of Famers — quarterback Troy Aikman , running back Emmitt Smith and wide receiver Michael Irvin — the Cowboys won three Super Bowl championships (1992, 1993, 1995 seasons) in four years.
The trio was not alone in its endeavors. Other Hall of Famers include offensive lineman Larry Allen, who is considered one of the strongest players of all time; defensive lineman Charles Haley and cornerback Deion Sanders .

One of the few cultural fixtures from the 1990s that was arguably bigger than the ’90s Cowboys is Bill Clinton. Clinton served as the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001. A member of the Democratic Party, he positioned himself as a centrist “New Democrat,” supporting policies that blended traditional liberal goals with more moderate fiscal approaches. His presidency was also marked by significant controversy , including his impeachment by the House of Representatives in 1998 on 11 charges, including perjury and obstruction of justice, though he was later acquitted by the Senate.
On Wednesday, ESPN’s Todd Archer reported that Clinton unexpectedly was in attendance at the Cowboys’ pre-draft press conference. In the X post, a photo is shared showing Clinton speaking with Jones near the press table, with the former president wishing the Cowboys owner, president and general manager — all titles Jones claims — good luck in the 2026 NFL Draft .

“So this is a first: President Bill Clinton has arrived for the Cowboys’ pre-draft press conference,” Archer wrote. “He wished Jerry Jones good luck in the draft.”
Dallas currently has two first-round selections (Nos. 12 and 20) in the 2026 NFL Draft , which begins April 23.
