On Tuesday, during voluntary workouts, the Buffalo Bills officially signed tight end Shane Zylstra , who last played for the Detroit Lions . Adam Schefter announced the move on X and also stated that the Bills have released kicker Maddux Trujillo.
Zylstra has not had a very productive NFL career, but the tight end did catch four touchdown passes in 2022, which is respectable. In his career, he has four TDs, 18 catches, and 136 yards total. Zylstra is now the fifth tight end on the roster after Dalton Kincaid , Dawson Knox , Jackson Hawes , and Keleki Latu .
Maddux Trujillo, who was cut by the Bills, is an undrafted kicker who played for the Indianapolis Colts and the Bills' practice squads in 2025. He has yet to make an official kick in the NFL. The kicker out of Temple will hope to find a new home.
On Monday, the NFL announced the very first Thursday Night Football game on Prime Video for the 2026 season. Funny enough, the two teams playing will be the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills . The Bills will host their very first game at the new Highmark Stadium , which will be Week 2 of the season. This gives away that the Bills will open the season with a road contest. The Lions won't likely play two straight road games to open the new year, so there is a very high chance that Detroit is at home to begin the new campaign.
The NFL season is right around the corner. Will we see a new champion in 2027? Or will the Seattle Seahawks keep the throne?
