Billy Horschel will not be competing at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth this year.
Horschel has won the BMW PGA Championship twice throughout his career, in 2021 and 2024.
However, the American's poor form on the PGA Tour during the 2026 season means that he has to focus his attention elsewhere this fall.

However, Horschel will not be playing at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth this month for the first time since 2019.
Horschel took to his official X account to make a statement about missing the BMW PGA this year.
" Hey everyone, Billy here. To all the supporters and fans at the DP World Tour and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, " Horschel began.
" Unfortunately, due to my not-so-solid play on the PGA Tour this year, I'm going to have to skip the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
" I'm devastated. I'm upset. It's a decision that was really tough to make.
" I think everyone understands how much I love this event, how much I appreciate the support I've received since 2019.

" I'm truly proud and honored to call myself a two-time champion of this event, and I'm gonna miss everyone over there this year. I'm going to miss playing Wentworth. I'm gonna miss seeing all the guys on DP World Tour. I'm going to miss, you know, people saying, 'come on you irons' to me.
" It's something that I truly do love and I think everyone sees the smile I have on my face when I play there every year.
" So, I'm wishing everyone a great event this year, and I look forward to seeing everyone in the years to come.
" So thank you guys for your support and have a great week at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. "
Horschel will clearly be playing a full schedule on the PGA Tour throughout the fall in order to try and secure his card for the 2026 season.
His form on the PGA Tour this year has been poor to say the least.
Billy Horschel has played 24 PGA Tour events in 2026 and has missed 10 cuts.
In the 14 events where he made the cut, Horschel, 39, has recorded just one top-10 finish, and that came at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans – a team event.
He will be desperate to rediscover his very best form over the next few months.
And Horschel clearly believed that playing the fall schedule on the PGA Tour rather than competing at the BMW PGA Championship gives him the best chance of doing just that.
