There was an interesting sequence of play in the series finale between the Brewers
and the Orioles at Camden Yards on Sunday. Baltimore skipper Craig Albernaz made some noteworthy remarks about second baseman Jeremiah Jackson
, who was an integral part of the incident.
In the post-game interview
, Albernaz criticized Jackson's game-reading skills and his decision to swing at the first pitch from a pitcher who had just thrown nine balls in a row.
"That's not winning baseball. That's not baseball period," Albernaz said.
Fans took exception to the skipper's comments about Jackson and shared their blunt take on social media. Many fans felt the skipper has not treated popular starting players the way he did with Jackson.
"It's a bit interesting who Alby calls out and who he chooses not to," one fan commented.

Jackson finished the game 0-for-4 as the Orioles suffered an embarrassing 3-0 shutout loss; the Brewers completed a series sweep, leaving just six games in the regular season. For the visitors, it was an exemplary bullpen performance, highlighted by an HR from William Contreras
and a two-RBI night from Cooper Pratt.
What Transpired in the 6th Inning of the Orioles vs. Brewers Series Finale?
With the visitors leading 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Brewers LHP JoJo Romero
recorded the first out before Milwaukee
's manager brought in Chad Patrick
from the bullpen. Patrick retired Pete Alonso
on a groundout for the second out, then moved Gunnar Henderson
to first on a hit-by-pitch.

Next, Patrick threw nine straight balls, loading the bases with two outs. Jackson then came to bat with two runners in scoring position but swung at Patrick's first pitch, hitting a weak grounder to first that ended the inning.
With the loss, the Orioles are now 75-81 for the season, vying for the last Wild Card spot in the American League, which seems an uphill task, as they are still five games behind the White Sox
, who currently hold that spot with just six games left in the regular season.
The Orioles host the Blue Jays (Sept. 21–23) at Camden Yards as part of their final homestand, then finish on the road with a three-game series at Yankee Stadium (Sept. 25–27).
