- Bizarre ending leaves Minnesota United with 2-2 draw at Colorado

During Wednesday's second half, Minnesota United tied Colorado Rapids at 1-1 and then went up a man. But even what looks promising for this Loons outfit rarely ends well this season.
Seven minutes after going down to 10 men, Colorado forward Georgi Minoungou capitalized on a pinging ball in MNUFC's box to score and give the Rapids a 2-1 lead.
Yet the Rapids weren't done giving Minnesota opportunities to produce their first win since late August.
Colorado's Loic Williams' own goal — which came after incisive set-up play from Joaquin Pereyra and Kelvin Yeboah — led to a 2-2 draw at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.
In the 90th minute, Yeboah had a golden chance alone at the back post. A cross from Mauricio Gonzalez went through traffic to Yeboah, but his shot somehow went wide and he was left in disbelief.
"Should have been three points," Loons coach Cameron Knowles said. "When we go a man up, and the way the guys approached the second half, I thought much more aggressive, able to get pressure to the ball, create better chances and we had the chances to win the game."
Once the final whistle blew, Yeboah fell to the grass and stared at the sky.
"He's put himself in a great position, like he has done a number of times this year," Knowles said. "For all the goals he's scored, he'll probably tell you that he should have had four or five more. But he's having a fantastic season and a historic one for the club."
MNUFC (7-13-9, 31 points) prolonged its winless lull to eight matches since its last victory on Aug. 22. Colorado (11-14-4, 39 points) is now winless in its last five.
The Loons fell behind in first-half stoppage time when Morris Duggan was unable to deny Keegan Roseberry's cross and Darren Yapi got in between center backs Michael Boxall and Jefferson Diaz for a goal just before halftime.
"Extremely disappointing," Knowles said, pointing out a pregame emphasis was to deny the Rapids' specific crossing.
In the 52nd minute, Yeboah produced a great individual play to steal a Morgan Whittaker pass and spring a one-man breakaway. He scored the equalizer to extend his single-season club record goal total to 16.
The positive vibes grew for Minnesota when Colorado's Abu Farhi was booked for a red card for violent conduct to Boxall's face in the 67th minute.
But Colorado didn't call off its high-pressing style, which led to Minoungou's goal and more misery for Minnesota.
