Blackhawks vs. Panthers best bet: Seth Jones Under 0.5 Points (+105)
NHL PRO Prop Projections have flagged a standout play for Wednesday's matchup. Our model projects Panthers defenseman Seth Jones for just 0.65 points tonight, giving an 8.7% betting edge on Under 0.5 points at current best odds.
While Jones has racked up 18 points across 15 games this season, those surface-level totals have inflated his prop line, creating prime value to fade him at a price heavily slanted in the bettor's favor.
A closer look at Jones' game log shows a significant regression after an unsustainable mid-October scoring binge. Over Jones' last five outings, he has gone scoreless in two—including Florida's most recent 5-3 loss to Detroit on November 2, where he registered zero shots on goal and a minus-1 rating.
When the Panthers met the Blackhawks on October 25 in Chicago, Jones managed just a single assist despite logging 24:55 of ice time in a tight, low-scoring 3-2 contest. Over one-third (6 of 15) of his games this season have ended without him touching the scoresheet, yet bookmakers continue to price his under at enticing plus-money.
Matchup context also leans toward a gritty, low-event script that works against a defenseman finding the scoresheet. Florida's offense ranks 19th in the league with 47 goals, while the visiting Blackhawks sit dead last at 32nd, managing only 33 goals on the season.
Head coach Paul Maurice and the Panthers prioritize structure in their own end (allowing just 44 goals, 8th in the NHL), meaning Jones' primary responsibilities will remain centered in defensive transition rather than reckless offensive pushing.
Chicago's lack of offensive punch won't force the Panthers into high-event track meets, limiting late-game power-play chases or frantic scoring situations.
Back this edge and fade Jones at plus money.
Best Bet: Seth Jones Under 0.5 Points (+105, DraftKings )
