Josh Winckowski has agreed to a two-year minor league deal with the Blue Jays, according to Steve Adams .
"Had internal brace surgery earlier this month," Adams wrote on X. "Hoping to pitch late in 2026. Plan right now is to build him back up as a starter when he's healthy."
Winckowski is actually returning to his first organization.
He was a 15th-round pick by the Blue Jays in the 15th round out of Estero High School in Florida.
He didn't make his MLB debut until 2022 with the Boston Red Sox .

He has a career 4.20 ERA at the MLB level.
His best season was 2023, when he had a 2.88 ERA in 60 appearances in 2023.
In 2025, Winckowski threw in six games at the MLB level and had a 3.86 ERA.
In his career, he has struck out 7.2 batters per nine innings and walked 3.3 batters per nine innings.
The Blue Jays obviously know about Winckowski's injury have a plan, as outlined by Adams above.
It's a chance to let Winckowski rehab with their trainers, and when he gets back, potentially he can work his way to the MLB level and contribute for the organization that drafted him nearly a decade ago.
