Chris Cenac Jr. earned a reputation as a hard worker under one of the toughest coaches in the NCAA ranks when he played under Kelvin Sampson at Houston. And we have seen why with the Boston Celtics in training camp, where the La Place, Louisiana native let it be known that he actually started work on growing his game for the NBA even before he arrived in training camp after practice on Friday (Oct. 2) morning.
As to what he has been working on since arriving in Boston, Cenac Jr. said ( via CLNS Media) "being versatile, really. Defending, getting better at blocking shots. Me and (Celtics player development coach) Craig (Luschenat) have been working a lot on shooting, getting my shot where it's supposed to be."

"So, we've been pretty much working on everything all around the game," added the Celtics' No. 27 overall pick this year, relating he has also been picking the brains of Mitchell Robinson and Neemias Queta on "how physical they play, how they run the floor, rebound; I feel like I can learn a lot from those guys. I've been talking to them a lot lately."

And before Boston, Cenac Jr. leaned on a Hall of Fame talent to grow his game as well. "That was pretty cool," he said, "learning from one of the best to ever play. He taught me a lot of little things about keeping a game simple, having one or two moves like he did, and keeping it simple."
"I learned a lot from him – it was a lot. I enjoyed it. My dad, he went to Houston. I went to Houston; there was a connection there. And then my dad set up the workout, and he asked me if I wanted to do it. I was like 'Yes, immediately!,' so it was pretty cool."
