The veteran pass rusher opened up on the PHLY postgame show about the Sirianni era in Philadelphia.
Brandon Graham just said the quiet part out loud about Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni , and I can't stop thinking about it. The longtime Eagles defensive end joined the PHLY postgame show and spoke openly about the Sirianni era . What he revealed about the locker room's mindset after the Super Bowl run is a candid admission, and every Philly fan should hear it. Let's start with the part that already had everybody talking.
"I love Nick, but I can see the writing on the wall if things don't go well this year," Graham said.
Fair, right? That's an honest answer from a veteran who has seen just about everything in this building. Graham has earned the right to speak his mind, and he's not wrong. When a team with this much talent stalls out, the head coach is the first person who has to answer for it. Simple as that.
But that wasn't the part that made my eyes go wide.
While talking about the Super Bowl win, Graham said he thought there was a chance Sirianni would leave and then-offensive coordinator Kellen Moore would become the head coach afterward.
Read that again. A respected leader in that locker room thought there was a real possibility the Eagles would hand the keys to Moore instead of Sirianni after winning it all.
That tells me all I need to know.
These players had more belief in Kellen Moore. Why? Because he was an offensive genius. Because he actually put together an offensive game plan week after week, and that experience showed through and through. The players saw it up close. They knew who was drawing it up and who was making it work, and Graham's comment pretty much confirms where the respect was flowing.
So here's my question for everybody: other than being a leader of men, what does Nick Sirianni actually do?
I'm not trying to take away the culture piece. Sirianni gets guys to buy in, and that matters. But he's supposed to be an offensive coach. If you're an offensive coach and you can't elevate the offense , or fix it when things go sideways, what exactly is your role? We have watched this offense sputter without anybody in the building finding answers, and that falls on the head coach. Moore had the answers. Now he's gone, and the problems we all saw coming have shown up on Sundays.
To be fair to BG, he did elaborate on the comment and tried to walk it back a little bit. I honestly don't know if he meant to say it at all. Sometimes a guy gets comfortable on a postgame show, starts talking, and the truth slips out before he can catch it.
When a player of Graham's stature, someone who has been the heartbeat of this franchise for years, admits the locker room thought Moore might take over, you can't just brush it aside. Where there's smoke, there's fire. That isn't a random fan on social media or a national talking head with an agenda. It's one of the most beloved Eagles of all time telling you how the players viewed the power structure at the height of this team's success.
I cannot believe Graham said it. But I'm glad he did, because it puts real context behind what so many of us have felt watching this offense struggle. The players know. They have known for a while.
Sirianni deserves credit for the wins and for the culture he built. But Graham just told us who the guys in that room thought was steering the ship when everything was clicking. If this offense doesn't turn things around soon, that comment is going to age like a prophecy, and owner Jeff Lurie is going to remember exactly who said it first.
