Brennan Marion's message sets tone for Colorado football
Deion Sanders went big with his offensive coordinator hire this offseason, bringing in Sacramento State's head coach Brennan Marion to lead the Colorado offense.
Marion, the originator of the "Go-Go" offense, has already brought a massive boost to the program , serving as the lead recruiter for many of the 40-plus transfer portal prospects the Buffaloes brought in.
Marion's voice already seems to carry a lot of weight, as he spoke to a good portion of the team earlier this week.
"If we have more people in here who want to be 'the' guy, then we will become elite," Marion told the team. "We can't be here to just hang out and just chill...We have to be guys who want to be the greatest that ever lived, that ever walked through Colorado. If everybody has that mindset, we'll be a really hard-to-beat football team, we'll be the best in the country."
Marion is clearly a guy who can relate to players who believe in the 'keep grinding' mantra, as he started his college career at two San Francisco Bay Area community colleges before finally getting an opportunity with Tulsa.
The former Texas pass game coordinator and UNLV OC brings not only his brilliant offensive mind but also his ability to lead, which Colorado was missing on that side of the ball.
Buff Nation should be fired up that Marion is in the building as the Buffaloes' offensive leader, and based on the above clip, he is already proving why Sandes' bold hire was a worthwhile one.
