Second baseman Brice Turang has become a key piece of the Milwaukee Brewers ’ core. While he is under team control through 2030, Turang is playing his way into a much more expensive contract.
Turang admits he has thought about a new deal. But ultimately, the second baseman is more focused on continuing to prove himself on the diamond, via Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“I think every player is interested in it, if it’s the right number, if it’s the best thing for them and their family,” Turang said. “I mean, you’re always open ears as a player.”
“I’m so far away from that,” he continued. “I don’t really like to think about it. I think if I play my game, that stuff will take care of itself. And it will. If you play the game the way you’re supposed to and the way you can, that stuff takes care of itself.”
When Turang does sign a new deal, he remains hopeful it comes in Milwaukee . He has made a name for himself on the Brewers and wants to continue leaving his legacy with the franchise.
“Oh yeah, for sure,” Turang said. “I mean, this is all I know. I’ve been with Milwaukee my whole career. This is all I know. I only know these fans and this city.”
Over his four years with the Brewers, Turang has hit .259 with 35 home runs, 186 RBIs and 106 stolen bases. He is also a former Gold and Platinum Glove winner. The second baseman has opened up his 2026 season by hitting .300 with four home runs, 14 RBIs and six stolen bases.
The Brewers want to ensure Turang ticks around long-term. But they may eventually take a pricey contract extension.
