Facundo Buonanotte to Elche
Perhaps the surprising part of this deal was the fact that it was a straight loan rather than one with an option to buy.
All Albion fans know how good Buonanotte can be, as he has shown very encouraging signs at Brighton. His last few loans have been messy to say the very least. Joining clubs in trouble and with very limited game time, the Argentine will be hoping to kick on in La Liga.
The league switch could do him some good, as the Spanish top flight matches his qualities on the ball well; however, joining a lower team in Elche makes it hard for him to kick on in the division. One to keep an eye on!

Tommy Watson to Leicester
Watson completed his season-long loan move to the East Midlands to play League 1 football this season, and it came as a rather big surprise to some Albion fans.
With that said, it does feel like one that is a good loan for him. Despite his headline-grabbing goal in the Play-Off final for Sunderland, Watson was mostly a bit-part player in the Championship. The English winger has struggled for minutes at senior level and is in dire need of being in a winning environment.
From the outside looking in, you'd expect Leicester to be aiming to come straight back up, and that is the perfect atmosphere for him to finally develop properly as a player.

Brajan Gruda to RB Leipzig
The German forward looks like he has left the club with no likelihood of return. Gruda has rejoined Leipzig on loan with an obligation to buy if certain criteria are met. Unfortunate for Albion fans who wanted to see more of him, but the player had his heart set on a return.
Gruda is an exciting young player and could become one that fans look back on as one that got away. He has shown signs in the Premier League, but perhaps not enough to start every single week. Saying that, with some strong coaching and another productive season, Gruda could be a very good player to keep an eye on at European level.
James Beadle to Birmingham
Depending on which Birmingham fan you ask at this stage, Beadle had a mixed loan spell last season. Usually finding comments about him making mistakes and being untrustworthy on the ball.

The Albion clearly rate him highly, as he was rewarded with a new four-year deal before leaving the club again this summer.
With an expected recall clause in the deal, it looks as though the pathway is set for him to become the future number one goalkeeper at the Seagulls if he develops well.
Harry Howell to Leicester
Howell completed a move to Leicester and has already looked encouraging early doors.
The youngster is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents to come out of the Albion academy but will need to bulk up to English football standards.
In an imaginary world where Leicester are promoted back to the Championship, Howell could be a big part of that success.

Rodrigo Rego to Castellon
One of Albion's newest recruits of 2026 headed on loan almost straight away after signing from Portuguese giants Benfica.
Rego is still a rather unknown quantity, but possesses some qualities like ball striking and cutting in.
A loan is his best option to gain valuable minutes, and if he progresses, he could be one to watch in the future!
Yoon Do Young to 1. FC Magdeburg
Albion fans are left rather unaware of Yoon's qualities at this stage. A talented youngster who made the switch from South Korea in 2025, his loans abroad in Europe haven't been the most productive.
The highly rated youngster will hopefully accumulate some much-needed game time to be able to truly judge just how good he could be for the Seagulls in the future.
